Mozambique is a country in Southeast Africa. It has a total land area of 26,742 square kilometers. The health system of Mozambique is not as developed as other countries in the world. It’s position in the world is at number 138 out of 194 countries.

Mozambique is located on the east coast of Africa, between Tanzania and Madagascar and it shares borders with South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Swaziland. The country has a tropical climate that varies from savannah to tropical rainforest with an average temperature of 23 degrees Celsius (73 degrees Fahrenheit).

The health system in Mozambique was historically based on traditional healing practices like herbalism and folk medicine which were both used by people from different ethnic groups. However, these traditional practices were not enough to meet the growing demands for healthcare services so new hospitals were built to provide better care for patients.

The health system in Mozambique today consists of three levels: public health care

In this hospital, there are two emergency rooms with beds for 40 patients each; one operating room; two laboratories; three wards with 30 beds each; one ward with 20 beds; one ward with 10 beds; emergency department and outpatient clinics; radiology department with X-ray equipment and digital radiography system.
