Iran is located in the Middle East, bordering Iraq and Afghanistan. Iran has a population of over 80 million people. Iran is a Muslim country with Shia Islam as the official religion.

There are many factors that contribute to the health system of Iran, such as climate, social and economic status, culture and traditions. The Iranian government spends less than 5% of its GDP on healthcare. This means that Iranians have to rely on private insurance policies or out-of-pocket payments for medical treatment.

Iran has one of the highest rates of mortality in children under five years old due to poor sanitation and lack of access to clean water.

Iran’s position in the world is not very good when it comes to health care standards because it ranks 120th out of 191 countries according to WHO data from 2016.

1.Shahid Beheshti University Hospital:

Shahid Beheshti University Hospital of Iran is located in Tehran, Iran. It is a public hospital and it has been established in 1982.

Shahid Beheshti University Hospital of Iran is one of the most reputable hospitals in Tehran. It has a total of 596 beds and it also provides medical services to people from other provinces who are not able to find adequate medical care in their hometowns.

The hospital has all the necessary facilities for diagnosis and treatment including an intensive care unit, pediatric ward, surgery department, radiology center, laboratory department and dental clinic.

2.Imam Khomeini Hospital:

The Imam Khomeini Hospital is a hospital located in Tehran, Iran. It is the largest state-run hospital in Iran. The hospital was established in 1967 and it has a capacity of more than 1,000 beds.

The hospital has departments such as cardiology, neonatal care, neurology, urology and gynecology. It also has an intensive care unit and an emergency department.

It includes a library with more than 30 thousand books and journals. The library includes publications on traditional Iranian medicine as well as international publications.

The Imam Khomeini Hospital of Iran offers a full range of medical services for patients from all over the world including outpatient services, surgery services, diagnostic imaging services and maternity care services among others.

3.Shohadaa-e-Iran Hospital:

Shohadaa-e-Iran Hospital of Iran is located in Tehran, Iran. It has a total of 250 beds and offers medical services in a range of fields, including cardiology, neurology and oncology.

Shohadaa-e-Iran Hospital of Iran is one of the largest tertiary level general hospitals in Tehran. It was established in 1990 for the treatment and investigation of cardiovascular diseases.

It has a large number of departments, including cardiology, neurology, oncology and intensive care wards.

The hospital also offers dental services to its patients through the dental clinic which provides oral surgery as well as other treatments such as tooth extraction or filling cavities.

4.Tehran Psychiatric Hospital:

The Tehran Psychiatric Hospital of Iran is located in the northern part of the city of Tehran. It is a large hospital with a total area of about 1,500,000 square meters.

The hospital was built in 1957 and was designed by architects Mohammad Reza Mohammadi and Abbas Ahmad Akbari. The hospital is composed of three buildings: the main building, the women’s clinic, and the children’s clinic. The main building consists of three floors which are designated for administrative offices, wards for patients with mental disorders, and wards for patients with chronic physical disorders. The women’s clinic has seven floors which are designated for administrative offices, wards for female patients with mental disorders or chronic physical disorders who have no family members to take care of them at home, wards for female patients with mental disorders who do not need to be hospitalized but need some medical care on an outpatient basis (including psychological counseling), wards for female patients with chronic physical disorders who do not need to be hospitalized.

5.Tabriz Psychiatric Hospital :

Tabriz Psychiatric Hospital of Iran is located in Tabriz, Iran. It is one of the oldest psychiatric hospitals in the country and has been established as a mental hospital since 1887.

The hospital has a total of 12 wards with a capacity for about 400 patients. The wards are divided into three groups: old, new, and women’s wards. The old wards were built in 1887 and are the most traditional part of the hospital. The new wards were built between 1986-1990 and have been designed to be more modern than the old ones. Women’s ward was built in 2003 as an extension to the new wards for women patients suffering from depression or anxiety disorders among other mental problems.”

6.Tabriz Trauma Surgery Hospital :

The Tabriz Trauma Surgery Hospital of Iran is one of the most important hospitals in the Middle East and has been established with a mission to provide optimum care for all patients.

The hospital is located in Tabriz, Iran and was established in 2005. It is affiliated with the Iranian Ministry of Health, the Iranian Medical Council and the International Committee of the Red Cross. The hospital has a trauma center, an emergency department and an intensive care unit. It also offers diagnostic imaging services such as CT scans, MRIs and X-rays.

7.Zagros Cardiovascular Hospital:

The Zagros Cardiovascular Hospital is located in Iran. It is the only cardiovascular hospital in the country. The hospital has a total of 5 floors and includes a 24-hour emergency service, 3 intensive care units, 14 operating rooms, and 4 cardiac catheterization laboratories.

The Zagros Cardiovascular Hospital was established in 1977 with the support of the Iranian Heart Association. It was initially called “Iranian Heart Association’s Cardiac Surgery Center” (IHA). The hospital has been renamed as “Zagros Cardiovascular Hospital of Iran” since 2003.

The hospital offers services like open heart surgery, valve surgery, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), heart transplantation, angioplasty and stenting procedures to patients with heart disease or other cardiovascular problems.

8.Shahid Rajaee Cancer Hospital:

Shahid Rajaee Cancer Hospital of Iran is one of the leading cancer hospitals in Iran. It is located in the south-west part of Tehran, and it has a capacity to provide treatment for up to 400 patients. The hospital has been providing cancer treatment since 1981, and it was named after Shahid Rajaee who died from leukemia.

The hospital is equipped with modern facilities and equipment that are used in diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients. It offers chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, immunotherapy, bone marrow transplantation and stem cell transplantation to its patients.

9.Sina Trauma and Surgery Hospital:

Sina Trauma and Surgery Hospital of Iran is located in Tehran, Iran. This hospital is a tertiary care center that provides emergency, surgical and rehabilitation services.

The Trauma Center is the first center in Iran to have a dedicated pediatric trauma department which has been designed to care for children from birth up to 18 years old. The hospital also has a dedicated organ transplantation center which has been designed for adult and pediatric patients.

The hospital was founded in 1976 with a capacity of 50 beds, but it has now increased to 200 beds. The hospital also has an emergency department that provides treatment for mental health disorders as well as addiction services.

The hospital also offers rehabilitation programs for patients with drug addiction problems, who are not admitted to the hospital but come by referral from other hospitals or social welfare organizations.

11.Alzahra Psychiatric Hospital:

12.Alborz Neuropsychiatric Hospital :

Alborz Neuropsychiatric Hospital is one of the most important psychiatric hospitals in Iran. It has a total of 137 beds and provides a variety of services for its patients.

The hospital was founded in 1983 and its main goal is to provide mental health care to people who live in the Alborz Province, which includes all of northern Iran.

It is located at Noor Street, next to Imam Khomeini Hospital, on the north-west corner of Shahid Beheshti University. Its facilities include an intensive care unit (ICU), a day hospital, an outpatient clinic, and a ward for children with psychiatric problems.

13.Rahyar Hospital:

Rahyar Hospital is a private hospital in Tehran, Iran. It has been in operation since 1997. The hospital is located on the north-west side of Tehran and is easily accessible from the airport and other major highways.

The hospital has a total of 200 beds, with two operating rooms and two intensive care units. It has four floors with an elevator for easy access to different wards.

Facilities include an emergency room, a laboratory, x-ray equipment, dental facilities, and pharmacy with qualified staff. In addition to these facilities, Rahyar Hospital also has a restaurant which offers healthy food items like fruit salads and sandwiches as well as traditional Iranian dishes like kebabs.

14.Golestan Hospital:

Golestan Hospital of Iran is located in Tehran, and was founded in 1961. It has a capacity of 400 beds and provides medical services to the residents of Tehran and its surrounding areas.

The hospital has been equipped with the most advanced medical equipment and facilities, including a modern intensive care unit, high-tech operating theaters, radiology department and an emergency room.

It has also been fitted with an on-site laboratory for carrying out tests for HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B and C viruses as well as other sexually transmitted diseases.

In addition to this, it also offers a range of health services such as general surgery, urology surgery, orthopedic surgery, gynecology surgery and ophthalmology.

15.Al-Zahra University Hospital:

Al-Zahra University Hospital is one of the oldest and largest hospitals in Iran. It is located at the intersection of Al-Zahra Street and Shahid Beheshti Avenue in Tehran, Iran. The hospital was founded by Dr. Alireza Emami, a professor of surgery at Tehran University Medical School.

The hospital has 300 beds with an intensive care unit for children, two operating theaters, a cardiac catheterization laboratory and a CT scanner. It also has a dental clinic, an ophthalmology clinic, a radiology department and an oncology department that provides chemotherapy treatment for cancer patients.

16.Khatam al-Anbia Hospital:

Khatam al-Anbia Hospital of Iran is located in the Iranian city of Mashhad. It is one of the largest hospitals in Iran and has an area of about 100,000 square meters.

The hospital provides a wide range of services for patients including general medicine, orthopedics and traumatology, neurology and neurosurgery, cardiology, pulmonology and respiratory diseases, gastroenterology and stomach surgery, urology and nephrology, gynecology and obstetrics, ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology.

17.Bahman Hospitals:

Bahman Hospitals of Iran is a hospital that is located in Tehran, Iran. It is a private hospital that has an area of more than 10,000 square meters.

Bahman Hospitals of Iran was founded in 1983 by Dr. Bahman Motamedi and his son Dr. Bahman Motamedi Jr. The hospital has its own pharmacy, laboratory, and outpatient clinics for physical therapy and rehabilitation.

The hospital also has an Emergency Room with the latest equipment for emergency treatments and surgeries including cardiac catheterization lab, intensive care unit (ICU), obstetrician-gynecologist (OBGYN) unit, neonatal ICU unit and pediatric ICU unit.

The facility includes 20 operating rooms with over 30 beds in the wards section to provide services to patients who need long-term care or treatment for chronic diseases such as cancer or diabetes mellitus type 2.

18.Semnan Central Hospital :

The Semnan Central Hospital of Iran is located in the center of Semnan city, almost in the center of Semnan province. It is a referral hospital for the province and has a capacity for about 500 beds, including about 200 beds for patients with chronic diseases.

The hospital has been operational since 1986 and it is one of the most important hospitals in Iran. The hospital provides medical services to more than 1 million people from all over Iran, as well as many neighboring countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkmenistan and Pakistan.

19.Ilam Central hospital:

The Ilam Central Hospital is the first and largest hospital in central Iran. It is located in the city of Ilam, which is situated on the north-west of the country. The hospital has a capacity of 1,000 beds and provides medical services to more than 2 million people living in its catchment area.

Ilam Central Hospital has a number of departments including: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Emergency Services Department (ED), Laboratory Services Department (LSD), Radiology Department (RD), Pharmacy Department (PD) and Dental Clinic.

20.Hamadan Hospital:

Hamadan Hospital is a public hospital in the city of Hamadan, Iran. It is one of the oldest hospitals in Iran and was established as a medical school in 1934.

Hamadan hospital has 5 floors with a total area of 12,000 square meters and there are more than 100 beds available for patients. There are 4 sections working at the hospital: surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology and psychiatry.

The hospital has an emergency room with 10 beds and its own operating theatre.

Some of the services offered by this hospital are ophthalmology, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics and urology.

In addition to these services they also offer infertility treatment which is not common to find in Iran’s public hospitals. The infertility treatment service is only available for women who have had 2 or more miscarriages or 3 or more failed IVF treatments.
