Top 20 Hospitals in Madagascar

Madagascar is an island off the coast of East Africa, in the Indian Ocean. It has a population of approximately 27 million people.

Madagascar’s health system is divided into three sectors: public, private and traditional. Public services are provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MSPP), which oversees hospitals, district health centers and local health posts. The private sector includes for-profit clinics and hospitals, while traditional healers are mostly involved in rural areas.

The overall state of health in Madagascar is relatively poor with a high maternal mortality rate at 740 per 100 000 births as well as high rates of HIV/AIDS (1% prevalence) and malaria (2% prevalence). In addition to this, Madagascar has one of the highest rates of child malnutrition in the world with 26% stunting among children under 5 years old.
