Malaysia is a country in Southeast Asia. It is the only country in the world that has both Malay and English as its official language. Malaysia has a population of 31 million and it is the 44th most populous country on earth.

The Malaysian health system consists of public and private sectors. The public sector provides free health care while the private sector charges patients depending on their income level. There are four levels of healthcare providers, namely government hospitals, government clinics, government health centers, and community clinics. Malaysia’s rank in terms of healthcare system performance is 27th in the world which means that it ranks well among other countries but there are still plenty of room for improvement to make Malaysia’s healthcare system one of the best in the world.

The hospital was founded by Dr. Arthur Henry Pook, a British medical officer in 1906. The first building was built on the site where the present day Hospital Sultanah Aminah stands today. The hospital was named after Queen Victoria’s daughter, Princess Victoria, who was then known as Princess Alexandra of England and later became Queen Alexandra of Great Britain and Ireland.

The hospital specializes in treating illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, infertility and respiratory diseases among others. It also offers dental treatments such as root canal treatment, tooth extraction and fillings to its patients.

The hospital was established on 1 September 1957 and named after Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, who was then Deputy Prime Minister of Malaya and Minister of Education.

Its establishment was largely due to an earlier proposal by the Ministry of Health to establish a general hospital for Selangor that had been submitted to the Federal Government by Selangor state government in 1955. The hospital has been upgraded over time and now has 730 beds with 4 wards: General Wards, Special Wards (for maternity), Pediatric Ward, and Orthopedic Ward.

The hospital was established in 1951 and named after Queen Aminah binti Al-Marhum Sultan Mahmud Shah of Johor who died on 3 October 1950.
