Mali is a landlocked country in West Africa. It is bordered by six countries, including Algeria to the north, Niger to the east, Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast to the south-east, Benin to the south-west and Ghana to its south-west.

The health system in Mali is heavily influenced by traditional medicine. Traditional healers are consulted before any treatment. They are considered an important part of Mali’s health system because they are knowledgeable about how traditional treatments can complement modern medicine.

The Hôpital National de Bamako is a public hospital in the city of Bamako, Mali. It is the largest and most advanced medical facility in Mali.

It has been operational since 1965 and was originally built by the French colonialists. The hospital has a total of 15 wards, with a capacity of 400 beds, which can be increased to 600 beds if needed.

The Hospital is also equipped with an emergency ward, an intensive care unit, and a pediatric ward.

The Hôpital National de Bamako also provides specialized services in cardiology, neurology, obstetrics-gynecology and ophthalmology. It also provides laboratory services for blood tests and analyses for various diseases like malaria or HIV/AIDS.

2.Hôpital Général de Koulikoro:

The Hôpital Général de Koulikoro is the most important medical institution in Mali. It has a capacity of 300 beds and provides a range of services such as emergency care, surgery, pediatrics, gynecology, obstetrics and more.

The hospital is located in the city of Koulikoro which is located in the south-west region of Mali. The hospital covers an area of 20 hectares and it has a capacity for 300 beds. The hospital also has an outpatient department that provides health care to patients who are not admitted to the hospital.

The Hôpital Général de Koulikoro was established by the French colonial administration in 1887. It was initially built with 100 beds and had only one wing that was reserved for Europeans while Africans were treated on the other side of the building.

The Hospital National Universitaire D’Agaoua (Dakar) of Mali has been providing healthcare services for more than 30 years now. The hospital was inaugurated in 1983 by the then President of Mali Moussa Traore and it was named after him too.

The Hospital Regional Universitaire de Kayes, or HRK, is a university hospital in Kayes, Mali. The hospital was founded in 1967 and is the only hospital in the region. It is one of two hospitals in Mali with a surgical department and one of three with an obstetrics department.

Kayes has a population of over 100,000 people and HRK serves as the primary healthcare facility for this region. The Hôpital National du Mali is a public hospital in Bamako, Mali. It is the largest hospital in the country and offers services such as internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology.

Hôpital National du Mali was founded in 1885 as a small dispensary to provide health care for French military personnel stationed in the colony of French Sudan.

In 1897 it became a full-fledged infirmary for all colonial residents of French Sudan who were not eligible for treatment at the infirmaries of Dakar or Madagascar.

In 1919 it became the public hospital for all residents of French Sudan and was renamed Hôpital Général du Mali.

It was renamed Hôpital National du Mali on 1 January 1970 when Mali gained its independence from France.

HUB has a total capacity of 250 beds and offers medical consultations, surgical interventions and medical care for patients who have to be hospitalized for more than 24 hours.

The hospital has an intensive care unit, a maternity ward and an emergency room. The hospital also offers dental consultations and treatments for those who need them.

The hospital has two operating theatres, one delivery room and one delivery room equipped with a cesarean section. The clinic also has six rooms for minor surgery procedures such as appendectomies or hernia repairs.

Hôpital d’Ouahigouya is located in Mali, Mopti Region. It was built in 1983 and it is the only hospital in the region. The hospital has a capacity of 200 beds, but due to lack of funding, they are not able to provide all necessary services.

The hospital has a maternity ward and an outpatient clinic with laboratory facilities. They also have a pharmacy and a dental clinic.

The hospital provides care for pregnant women, children under five years old, people living with HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases, as well as patients who need surgery or treatment for chronic conditions such as diabetes or hypertension.

Hôpital d’Ouahigouya lacks medical equipment and supplies necessary for surgeries such as anesthetic drugs and surgical materials like gloves, masks or gauze pads.

They wanted to give back to their homeland by establishing this medical facility that would cater to people without any means of accessing medical care otherwise due to poverty or lack thereof.

The Hôpital Universitaire de Bamako (HUB) was founded on November 3, 1958 by President Modibo Keïta. The hospital is a teaching and research institution affiliated with the University of Mali, which provides medical education to more than 300 students per year.

HUB offers basic medical care as well as specialized treatments for specific diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS.

The hospital was established in 1955 by the French Red Cross with the help of the Malian government, who wanted to provide medical care for locals. The hospital has been expanded over the years with new wings being added, which include an emergency wing and an intensive care unit.

The Hôpital de la Croix Rouge is staffed by around 100 doctors, nurses, and other personnel. Facilities include lab facilities, radiology, operating theaters and wards for acute patients as well as long-term patients.

The Hôpital de la Croix Rouge offers free healthcare services to those who are not able to afford it and is also open 24 hours a day all year round.
