Marshall Islands is an island nation located in the Pacific Ocean. It is an archipelago of about 1,200 islands and islets. The country’s capital and largest city, Majuro, is located on the island of Majuro Atoll.
The Marshall Islands have a unique health care system with a mix of public and private sector health care providers. The public sector includes hospitals, clinics and pharmacies with over 600 beds. The government owns all the hospitals but contracts out some services to private providers. The government also provides free health care for all citizens who are not covered by insurance plans or who cannot afford it.
The Ministry of Health oversees the overall administration of the country’s medical services including healthcare delivery, training, research and policy development. In addition to overseeing the health system as a whole, it also manages several specialized units that provide healthcare for specific populations such as children or people living in remote areas:

The hospital was founded in 1978 and has seen many expansions over the years.
It is also home to one of two labs in the country which provide a range of medical services including x-rays and ultrasound imaging.
The hospital serves as a referral center for patients with serious conditions who need to be flown overseas for treatment.

The Republic of the Marshall Islands Hospital is located in Majuro, Marshall Islands. The hospital was established in 1951 and has an area of 1,700 sq. meters.

It has a staff strength of about 120 people and provides 24-hour emergency services to all the districts of the country.
The hospital has an ambulance service which operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week with trained paramedics who can provide basic life support services.
There are 5 wards, each ward having 12 beds with one doctor and one nurse on duty at any given time to provide around-the-clock medical care for patients.
The hospital also provides specialized medical care such as dentistry, dermatology, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN), orthopedics, pediatrics, radiology etc.
3.Woleai Hospital :
Woleai Hospital is the only hospital in the Marshall Islands. It provides a variety of services such as emergency care, surgery, laboratory, pharmacy and radiology.

The hospital has been providing medical care to the people of Marshall Islands for more than 60 years. It is located on Woleai Island which is a small island with a population of less than 2,000 people.
The hospital has one operating room and two emergency rooms with 8 beds each. There are also 10 beds for patients who need to stay overnight and 12 beds for patients who need to stay longer periods of time or have chronic conditions that require long-term treatment.
There is also a laboratory on site where tests can be done quickly without having to send them off-island which can take days or weeks.

The hospital has a total area of 2,700 square meters and on its premises there are four wards, a maternity ward, an emergency ward, an outpatient clinic and a pharmacy.
The hospital provides medical treatments for all types of illnesses that people might have. It also offers maternity care services for pregnant women who are at least eight weeks along in their pregnancies.
In 2008, the Majuro Hospital of Marshall Islands received an award from the Pacific Health Summit as “the best health care institution providing primary health care services” in the region.

Utirik Atoll Hospital is a small hospital in Utirik Atoll, Marshall Islands. The hospital has three wards, an operating room and an emergency room. The hospital provides outpatient care for outlying islands in the atoll and has a small medical library.

It is also one of the few hospitals in the Marshall Islands with a dental clinic, a laboratory, x-ray facilities and an operating room. The hospital provides various types of medical care such as general medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry, orthopedics and ophthalmology.

The hospital was originally built in 1950 by the United States military to serve its nuclear testing program in Bikini Atoll. In 1975, it was handed over to the Republic of Marshall Islands government for use as a civilian hospital.
In 1999, some new buildings were added to Ebeye Hospital in order to accommodate more patients and staff members. The new buildings included an outpatient clinic and an intensive care unit. In 2011, there was another expansion that included a new laboratory building with four autopsy rooms and three surgical suites with operating rooms for general surgery, orthopedic surgery, urology surgery, gynecology surgery, general medicine surgery and vascular surgery.

Maloelap Hospital is a hospital in Maloelap, Marshall Islands. It is a public hospital that provides care to people in the area. It was established in the late 1940s and has been operating ever since.

The hospital has an emergency room, consulting rooms, and an outpatient department. The emergency room has two beds and can accommodate up to five patients at any given time. The outpatient department offers a range of services including general practice consultations, pre-employment health checks, family planning services and immunisations.
The facilities of Maloelap Hospital include an ambulance service which operates 24 hours a day for emergencies and transfers to other hospitals on Majuro Atoll or elsewhere if required.
12.Wotje Hospital:
Wotje Hospital is the only hospital in the Marshall Islands. Located in Wotje, Marshall Islands, this hospital has a capacity of 50 beds. The hospital provides medical care to the people in the Marshall Islands and also neighboring Kiribati.

The Wotje Hospital of Marshall Islands is located on Wotje Island which is a part of Ralik Chain of islands in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. It is situated on a small hill overlooking Majuro Atoll and Kwajalein Atoll, and it can be seen from miles away by ships coming into Majuro Harbor. This hospital was established by missionaries from England with assistance from Japanese doctors and nurses who were relocated to Wotje after World War II.
13.Drs. John and Shirley Thompson Memorial Hospital:
The Drs. John and Shirley Thompson Memorial Hospital of the Marshall Islands is located in Majuro, Marshall Islands. It was established by the U.S. Navy in 1944 as a medical center for military personnel. The hospital was renamed after Dr. John Thompson and his wife Shirley who donated funds to make it possible for the hospital to be built on Majuro Island in memory of their son who died while serving with the US Navy during World War II.

The hospital has a total of 54 beds, including 35 beds for general care and 19 beds for intensive care. There are also 2 operating rooms, 2 delivery rooms, and an emergency room on site.
Mejit Island Hospital also offers specialized care like obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, radiology, pathology, nursing home care and mental health services through partnerships with other institutions like University of Guam College of Nursing or University of Hawaii at Manoa School of Nursing.

It was established in 1952 to serve the needs of the people living on Majuro and nearby islands.
The hospital offers a wide range of services including general care, maternity care, pediatric care, surgery, laboratory testing and x-ray services.
In addition to the main building there are three smaller clinics located on other islands in the Marshall Islands that offer basic health care services.
The hospital has an active outreach program which provides outreach services to remote communities with limited or no access to health care facilities.
A major goal of this program is to reduce maternal mortality rates through prenatal visits and deliveries at home with a trained midwife present.

The Tinian Hospital of Marshall Islands is a public hospital that provides medical services to the people of Tinian, Rota, and Saipan. It is operated by the Department of Health. The hospital has an emergency room, a maternity ward, and a laboratory.

The hospital was established in 1949 as a US Army dispensary on Tinian Island. In 1956, it was converted into a civilian hospital with an additional 3-bed ward for maternity cases. In 1958 the Department of Health leased the land from the US government for $1 per year for 99 years and made it into its own facility.
17.Ailinglaplap General Hospital:
The Ailinglaplap General Hospital is located on the main island of Ailinglaplap in Majuro, Marshall Islands. The hospital has a total of 16 beds, with 8 beds in the male ward and 8 beds in the female ward. It also has an x-ray facility and a laboratory.

The hospital is operated by the Ministry of Health and Environment (MOH&E) and provides medical care to all residents on Ailinglaplap Island. Services offered by the hospital include family planning, antenatal care, postnatal care, immunization services for children under five years old, treatment for acute respiratory infections, tuberculosis screening for high risk groups and general health checkups for adults.

It also provides dental care for adults and children, physiotherapy, psychiatric care and drug rehabilitation programs. The hospital has two operating theaters and an intensive care unit which can accommodate up to 10 patients at any given time.
The Amata Kabua Memorial Hospital of Marshall Islands is open from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on weekdays only with no weekend service available
20.Ebeye Atoll Hospital:
The Ebeye Atoll Hospital is a public hospital in the Marshall Islands. It provides healthcare services to the people of Ebeye and surrounding atolls. The hospital is located within the Ebeye Urban Area, which has a population of about 10,000 people.
