Tome and Principe is a small, autonomous country in West Africa. It covers a land area of about 2,000 square miles, but only has a population of about 250,000 people.
The health system in Tome and Principe is not very developed but it still provides some basic care to its citizens. There are few hospitals that provide basic treatment for common illnesses like pneumonia and malaria. However, there are no doctors or nurses in the country and patients have to travel outside the country for medical treatment if they need more advanced care.
