Vietnam is a country in Southeast Asia. Its capital and largest city are Hanoi. The Vietnam’s health system includes both the public and private sectors. The public sector covers the majority of the population while the private sector caters mainly to those who can afford it. The government has implemented a series of reforms to improve the healthcare system in Vietnam. These reforms have been successful, with life expectancy increasing from 66 years in 2000 to 72 years in 2015.

Also, A major problem that Vietnam faces is its limited access to healthcare for rural populations, especially for those living outside of urban areas or near borders with Laos, Cambodia, and China where there are no hospitals or clinics available. 1. Hanoi Medical University Hospital:

Hanoi Medical University Hospital is located on the corner of Truong Chinh Street and Nguyen Du Street. It is about 500 meters from the intersection of Truong Chinh Street and Hoang Quoc Viet Boulevard. The hospital has a total area of 3,000 square meters, including 5 wards with a total capacity of 40 beds.

The hospital has all the necessary equipment for diagnosis and treatment, such as general X-ray equipment, CT scan machine, and MRI scanner. There are also laboratories for blood tests and urine analysis. The hospital also has a pharmacy with modern pharmacies and traditional medicines to meet the needs of patients.

2. Nam Định Hospital, Nam Định:

Sóc Trăng Hospital is a hospital in the Sóc Trăng Province of Vietnam. It is a public hospital, and it provides health services to the people of Sóc Trăng. The hospital has an emergency center, as well as different departments for general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and neonatal care, orthopedics, neurology and neurosurgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology (ENT), psychiatry, and mental health care.

The hospital has a capacity of more than 500 beds. It employs more than 2200 medical staff with more than 250 doctors including 25 professors. The hospital has received many certificates from international organizations such as Joint Commission International (JCI).

5. Vũng Tàu Hospital, Vũng Tàu:

Vũng Tàu Hospital is a public hospital in Vũng Tàu, Vietnam. It was established on 28 November 2004 and has a total of 5 buildings.

Construction of the hospital began in 2003 with an investment of US$6 million. The first phase was completed on November 28, 2004, and the second phase was completed in 2005. The hospital has a total area of 10,000 square meters and provides medical services to patients from Vũng Tàu and surrounding areas.

The hospital is located near the coast of Bến Thủy District, Vũng Tàu City, with a total area of 10,000 square meters (approximately 2 acres).

6. Central Military Hospital:

The Central Military Hospital of Vietnam, also known as CMHV, is located on Nguyen Huu Tho Street, Hanoi. It was founded in 1954 and has been the most prestigious hospital in the country ever since.

CMHV has a total area of about 12 hectares and has a capacity of 2000 beds. The hospital is composed of five general hospitals: General Hospital No 1 (primary care), General Hospital No 2 (specialized care for women and children), General Hospital No 3 (specialized care for surgery), General Hospital No 4 (specialized care for traumatology) and General Hospital No 5 (specialized care for neurology).

CMHV also houses many research centers such as the National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, etc.

7. National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Hanoi:

This hospital is the first and only one of its kind in Vietnam. It has a wide range of facilities including an Obstetrics Department, a Gynecology Department, an Ophthalmology Department, and a Dentistry Department. The National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of the most prestigious hospitals in Hanoi, with many doctors working there.

The Obstetric Department at NHOG was established in 1955. It specializes in treating all kinds of pregnancy-related problems such as high blood pressure during pregnancy, gestational diabetes, etc. The Gynecology Department has been operating since 1994 and it deals with gynecological diseases such as uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, and pelvic inflammatory disease.

It is the first private hospital in Vietnam that has been awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 certification. This hospital also has many advantages over other hospitals because it is located close to residential areas and major roads, which makes it easy for patients to access the hospital quickly when they need medical assistance.

11. Trung Nguyên Hospital:

This is the first hospital in Vietnam with a five-star rating, and it is also the first hospital in Vietnam to use MRI, PET-CT, and CT scanners.

In 1891, it moved to its present location on Nguyen Trai Street (formerly called Quai de l’Indochine) in District 3. The new building opened on December 12, 1893, with an area of 2 hectares and cost about 1 million francs to construct.

In 1904, it became known as “Hospital Saint Joseph” after its patron saint who had been canonized that year by Pope Leo XIII.
