The hospital has been known as Milpark Hospital since 1977 and is one of the largest private hospitals in Africa with over 400 beds, including 40 intensive care beds, 20 operating theatres, a 24-hour emergency department, and a maternity unit.

The hospital provides medical and surgical services to patients from all over South Africa as well as neighboring countries such as Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland, and Mozambique.
