Suceava Hospital of Moldova has been established in 1894, it was founded by Dr. Ion Cucu, a physician from Bistrita-Nasaud County who was also the first mayor of Suceava City. It is located in the center of Suceava City and covers an area of 8 hectares.

In 2018, there were 569 beds at the hospital (of which 466 were general beds) and it employed 2,721 staff members (including 1,812 medical staff). The hospital has its own teaching hospital for students from all over Moldova with a capacity for 100 students per year.

The Central Clinical Hospital was founded on September 7th, 1946 and it was called “Hospitalul Clinic de Urgenţă” (Emergency Hospital). The first director of the hospital was Dr. Ion Petru Bălan. In 1992, it changed its name to “Hospitalul Clinic de Urgenţă şi Recuperare” (Emergency and Recovery Hospital) and in 2000 to “Hospitalul Clinic de Urgenţe şi Recuperare” (Emergency and Recovery Hospital).

The Central Clinical Hospital has a total area of about 1 hectare. It has about 400 beds for patients with acute diseases or injuries as well as for those who need rehabilitation after surgery or treatment at other hospitals.

The State Children’s Hospital in Moldova was founded on January 16th, 1946 and it was firstly named “Hospitalul de Copii” (Children’s Hospital) by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. In 2006-2007 the hospital was renamed to “Hospitalul de Copii şi Tineri” (Children’s and Teenagers’ Hospital).
