The hospital provides health care services for all citizens of Solomon Islands. The hospital also has a 24-hour emergency ward that handles major emergencies as well as accidents on weekends and public holidays when other medical facilities are closed.
2.National Referral Hospital:
The National Referral Hospital of Solomon Islands, also known as NRH, is the largest hospital in the Solomon Islands. It is located on the North Coast of Guadalcanal Island. The hospital has a total of 151 beds and has been open since 1974.

NRH was built by a Japanese company called Taisei Corporation and was funded by the Japanese government. The facility includes an emergency department, a maternity ward, operating theatres, and other medical facilities.
The hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient services with 24-hour emergency services available to residents of Guadalcanal island or people who have travelled there for medical treatment.
3.Honiara Adventist Hospital:
Honiara Adventist Hospital is a private, not-for-profit organisation that serves the people of the Solomon Islands. It is located in Honiara and has a number of facilities that offer various health care services.

Honiara Adventist Hospital offers a wide range of services including general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, psychiatry and dental care. It also has an emergency department.
4.Honiara General Hospital:
Honiara General Hospital is located in the capital city of Solomon Islands, Honiara. It is situated close to the sea, near the Honiara City Council office. The hospital was established in 1891 by Catholic missionaries and has been running ever since. The hospital provides medical services to all people living in Solomon Islands and nearby countries such as Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu.

The hospital has a total of four wards: two male wards, one female ward and one pediatric ward. It also has three major clinics: an outpatient clinic, a maternity clinic and an emergency clinic which is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The hospital also has a dental department which provides dental care for children as well as adults who are not eligible for government-funded dental care.
5.Kukutau General Hospital:
The Kukutau General Hospital is located in the Solomon Islands. It is a government-owned hospital. The hospital has been in operation since 1965, with the first building opening in 1968 and the second one opening in 1986.
The hospital has a staff of over 200 employees, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other medical specialists. It offers a wide range of services to patients from pediatrics to emergency care.

In terms of facilities and equipment, the Kukutau General Hospital has an emergency room with an ICU that can accommodate up to 10 patients at once. There are also two operating rooms and four wards for patients who need more intensive care.

Lata Medical Centre of Solomon Islands is a private hospital in Honiara, Solomon Islands. It is the only private hospital in the country and it is situated near Honiara International Airport.

9.Guadalcanal Provincial General Hospital-L:
This is the Guadalcanal Provincial General Hospital. It is located in Honiara, the capital of Solomon Islands. It’s a public hospital for the general population and it has about 180 beds.

The hospital was established on November 10, 1979 by an Act of Parliament and was opened on November 17, 1980. The first hospital was built on land donated by the Honiara Town Council and this site became a public park in 2011.
It is one of two hospitals in Honiara with facilities to provide tertiary level care, including surgery and intensive care units. 14.Malaita General Hospital:
Malaita General Hospital is located in Malaita, Solomon Islands. It is a public hospital that serves the people of Malaita Province on the island of Malaita.

The hospital was established in 1891 by the London Missionary Society and was originally located at the site of what is now known as Old Mission Station, which was then located near the center of Malaita. The current hospital building was constructed in 1951 and has been renovated several times since then.
Malaita General Hospital provides general medical services to all patients including those with mental health problems and drug dependency, who are primarily treated at a separate facility called King George V Memorial Hospital, which is operated by the Ministry of Health.

17.Kwara’ae District Hospital:
Kwara’ae District Hospital is located in the Kwara’ae district of the Solomon Islands. It is a small, rural hospital that provides basic medical services to people in the surrounding villages.

The Kwara’ae District Hospital has a number of facilities including a laboratory, pharmacy, and operating theater. The hospital staff includes a full-time doctor and nurses who are supplemented by visiting doctors from other districts and provinces.

The Lady Elizabeth Hospital has a range of facilities to offer its patients. These include an Emergency Department, Radiology Department, General Ward for patients who are admitted and a maternity ward for mothers who are expecting and need care.
The hospital also has an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) which is equipped with modern medical technology to help monitor the health of critically ill patients.

The hospital has a total of 15 beds and all are private rooms with air conditioning, TV, telephone and internet access. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services as well as general medical care. There are also facilities for dental treatment and eye care.
20.Hospital of the South Pacific (HOSP):
HOSP is the only hospital in Solomon Islands and has a staff of 35 people. It is located in the capital city of Honiara, which is also the country’s largest city with a population of around 40,000 people.

The hospital has two buildings that are connected by an internal corridor. The building on the right houses administrative offices, wards for inpatients, and outpatient clinics. The building on the left houses wards for outpatients and laboratories.
The HOSP serves as not just a medical facility but also as a teaching institution for nurses, midwives, and other health professionals. It has partnerships with universities in Australia and New Zealand to provide training opportunities to these professionals from Solomon Islands.
